Privacy Policy

Last updated: [VERIFY: set at publish]

Americus Legal Solutions, PLLC (“the firm,” “we,” or “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect through this website, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. It does not by itself create an attorney–client relationship; see our Disclaimer.

A note on confidential information

Information you send us before we have agreed in writing to represent you may not be protected as confidential. Please do not send sensitive details about your matter until an attorney–client relationship has been established. Once we represent you, information about your matter is protected by the duty of confidentiality and applicable privileges, and is handled accordingly — not under this website policy alone.

Information we collect

  • Information you give us through forms. When you request a consultation or contact us, we collect the information you provide — typically your name, phone number, email address, and a brief description of how we can help.
  • Scheduling information. If you book a consultation, we collect the details needed to schedule it, such as your name, contact information, the type of appointment, and the time you select. Our scheduling is operated on our own systems. [VERIFY: reflect the as-built Cal.com deployment.]
  • Payment information. If you make a payment, it is processed by our payment provider, LawPay, through secure fields hosted by the provider. Your full card or bank-account number is handled by LawPay and is not collected or stored on the firm’s systems. We retain records such as your name, the amount, an invoice or matter reference, the account the payment applies to, and a confirmation identifier. [VERIFY: reflect the as-built payments module and ledger.]
  • Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our servers may log basic technical information such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested, for security and to operate the site. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking on this site, and we do not use tracking technologies on pages where you contact us or submit information.

How we use information

  • To respond to your inquiry and communicate with you;
  • To schedule and conduct consultations and appointments;
  • To provide legal services if we are engaged, and to process related payments;
  • To operate, secure, and improve this website; and
  • To comply with our legal, regulatory, and professional-responsibility obligations.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed with service providers who help us operate — such as our payment provider (LawPay) and the providers of our email and infrastructure — and only to the extent needed for those functions, and when required by law or to protect legal rights. [VERIFY: confirm the final list of processors — e.g., LawPay, Microsoft 365, hosting/DNS providers.]

How we protect information

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including encryption of information in transit over the website and access controls on the systems that store it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect the information entrusted to us. [VERIFY: align to the as-built security measures.]

How long we keep information

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described here or as required by law and our professional obligations, after which it is deleted or retained in a limited form. [VERIFY: align to the firm’s records-retention schedule.]

Your choices and rights

You may ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information you have provided through this website, subject to our legal and professional obligations to retain certain records. To make a request, contact us using the details below. Depending on your circumstances, you may have additional rights under Texas law. [VERIFY: TDPSA applicability and any required rights/response process.]

Children

This website is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy as our practices or the law change. We will post the updated version here with a new “last updated” date.
